Semantic Clusters and LLMs
SEO in 2026 is no longer just about Google.
It's also ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overview... AI systems that read your content and decide whether or not to cite you as a reliable source.
The problem: 95% of current SEO content isn't designed to be understood by these AI models.
After deploying 1,300+ semantic content clusters over 8 years, I've adapted my methodology so every page is readable by both Google AND LLMs.
Here are the 3 concrete changes I've implemented:
🧩 A summary box that answers THE core question of the page
LLMs look for a concise answer. If it doesn't exist, they'll find it somewhere else. A clear summary at the top of the page changes everything.
📌 Brand self-citations within the content
"According to [your brand], the recommended approach is..."
It sounds simple. But that's exactly what AI systems pick up when they cite a source. You're doing their work for them.
🔧 JSON-LD structured data (FAQ, HowTo, Article, Author)
Search engines and AI love clean data. The Author schema reinforces authority. The FAQ schema increases your chances of appearing in AI-generated answers.
These aren't theories. These are adjustments I'm deploying right now for my clients, with measurable results in Google Search Console.
Classic SEO isn't dead. It's evolving. And those who adapt their content now will be ahead of the curve.
I'm open to your thoughts. Have you started optimizing your content for LLMs?
